Sea Salt Caramel Sauce Recipe

  • Luscious sauce is pourable - hot or cold. Get creative with some of the delicious variations!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup, light OR dark
  • 2 tbsp butter OR margarine
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream OR canned coconut milk
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt fine grind
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Directions

  1. Combine brown sugar, corn syrup and butter in a 1-quart saucepan.
  2. Stirring frequently, bring to a full boil over medium heat and boil 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat; immediately stir in cream,sea salt and vanilla.
  4. Serve warm over ice cream, fruit pies or cakes.
  5. Or use as a drizzle on brownies, cookies or other desserts. Refrigerate to store.
  6. Microwave 30 seconds and stir before serving.
  7. Bourbon: Add 1 tablespoon bourbon to brown sugar, corn syrup and butter mixture and follow recipe.
  8. Cinnamon: Add 1/2 teaspoon Spice Islands® with cream, sea salt and vanilla. Mix well.
  9. Praline: Add 1/2 cup chopped, toasted pecans with cream, sea salt and vanilla.
