A simple spice paste transforms a steak!


  • 2 tbsp. olive oil, extra virgin
  • ½ tsp. Ground Cumin
  • ½ tsp. pepper, black fine grind
  • 1 tsp. Fennel Seed
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 to 1-½ lb. top sirloin steak, 1-inch thick


  1. Preheat oven to broil; set oven rack so that meat is 5 to 6 inches from heat.
  2. Combine oil, cumin, black pepper, fenneland garlic salt in a small bowl; mix well.
  3. Press mixture onto both sides of steak.
  4. Broil 15 to 20 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness; turning steak once.


To grill, place steak on grid over medium coals.

Grill 17 to 21 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness, turning once.
